Welcome!

Our Mission: Montgomery County Youth Services (MCYS) provides crisis counseling, shelter programs and prevention services to strengthen families, keep youth in school and prepares them to be productive citizens.

A child’s bridge from challenges today to achievements tomorrow.

MCYS  is a private, not-for-profit organization that was established in 1979 by a group of community leaders with a vision to create new opportunities for at-risk youth throughout the community. The agency's eight locations provide direct and indirect services to thousands of youth and families annually. MCYS also has strong collaborative relationships with community agencies, businesses, churches, and school districts.

We provide a “Continuum of Care” through our services that include:

  • Individual and Family Crisis Counseling
  • Prevention Programs
  • BridgeWay Youth Emergency Shelter
  • The Fairway Home, an agency foster group home transitional living program

MCYS also offers:

  • Crisis Response Team
  • Therapeutic Summer Program
  • Pregnant and Parenting Teen Support
  • Alcohol and Substance Abuse       Education
  • Alcohol Education Programs for  Minors (MIP classes)

MCYS is a United Way agency, and a beneficiary of the Community Development Block Grant.

Shelter Shower
and
Open House

Thank you to all that attended the Shelter Shower and Open House on Monday
January 16, 2012.

We made some new friends and were happy to have several children visit the shelters.

Special thanks to all of you that brought donated goods. The girls were especially excited to receive make-up.

If you weren't able to visit the shelters, but would like to make a donation our ongoing needs include: Cleaning supplies; detergent, dishwasher soap, cleaning wipes, etc.  Paper products; paper towels, tissues, toilet tissue, dinner napkins, etc. Personal Hygiene items: hand soap, shampoo, conditioner, tooth brushes, tooth paste, feminine products, etc.  Non perishable food items; mac and cheese, Ramen noodles, cereal, apple sauce, packaged snacks, canned goods, etc.  Children often come to the shelter with only the clothes they are wearing.  They need  pajamas, lounge pants, packaged underwear (boys and girls), packaged socks, tee shirts, make-up, lip balm, etc.
