MCYS information can be found through our participation in many community events, including:

Youth Scholarships
Gwen Hruska was a long time volunteer at Montgomery County Youth Services, who truly made a difference in the lives of the youth she touched. She was especially involved with the older teens at Fairview, where among other things, she gave parties for residents who graduated and made them Easter baskets. Her family wanted to honor her memory and recognize the strong ties she had with MCYS. The result was The Gwen Hruska Memorial Scholarship.

The scholarship is available to past and present clients of MCYS, to enable them to attend any Lone Star College. The scholarship is for up to $500 per semester or $1,000 per year.

Prospective students can apply for the scholarship at the Financial Aid Office at the Lone Star College they plan to attend. The application deadline is April 1st for the fall semester, and October 1st for the spring semester. Students needing proof of eligibility can contact the MCYS administrative office at (936) 756-8682.
